PRIVATE PILOT
CERTIFICATE
OUR ELITE TEAM OF CSIPs MEET YOU WHERE YOU ARE
COMFORT. CONVENIENCE. CONTROL.
A private pilot certificate allows you to act as the pilot in command of an aircraft. You can even carry passengers (and, weight permitting, their bags, too)! That means family trips, business trips, fishing trips - you name it - can be accomplished on your schedule in a fraction of the time it would take to drive and with none of the hassles of commercial air travel. You can also tell friends, family, and the occasional stranger that you’re a pilot. So that’s neat.
And whether you’ve already started or are just getting going, our private pilot programs not only get you licensed quickly, they get you highly proficient with even the most challenging tasks and skills. Our Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilots (CSIPs) are ready to work with you. Contact us today to learn more or to schedule a training event.
BASIC TRAINING
REQUIREMENTS
TSA Approval (for non-U.S. citizens only)
Age: 17 Years (16 to Fly Solo)
Total Flight Time: 40 Hours
Instruction Flight Time: 20 Hours
Solo Flight Time: 10 Hours
It's important to keep in mind that while these minimums must be met, the national average for completing private pilot training is 70 hours total flight time with training in high performance, technologically advanced aircraft like the Cirrus taking much longer. Our courses are designed to get your Cirrus training wrapped up in just 65 (Cirrus) hours for those starting with us from zero. Also, there is no minimum age to start flying lessons, the ages above only apply to solo flight and license eligibility.
THE PATH TO CERTIFICATION
We recognize that accelerated training programs aren’t a one-size-fits-all venture which is why we’ll work with you to develop an individualized training curriculum suited to your needs and accounting for your previous flight experience. If you’ve already started your private pilot training and are just looking for a quick “wrap-up” course, your training timeline will likely fall in the 1-3 week range.
Training can be accomplished in your own Cirrus aircraft or we can provide an SR20 or SR22T for you during the weeks you’re training. The full private pilot course will encompass approximately 10 hours of simulator time, 65 hours of flight time, and over 100 hours of one-on-one ground instruction including a 3 day seminar dedicated to written exam test prep.
CHOOSE YOUR RIDE
Every pilot's dream plane? The SR20 and SR22T have redefined personal aviation with industry-leading performance, style, and safety. A seamless integration of luxury, technology, and automobile-inspired ergonomics will have you and your family eager to climb aboard.

TRAINING SCHEDULE
TYPICAL TIMELINE TO COMPLETION:
4 WEEKS OF TRAINING OVER 2.5 MONTHS
Given the capabilities and complexities of the Cirrus aircraft, we encourage student training in the Cirrus to commit to our immersive, accelerated training format. This means setting aside a week at a time for full time training (typically 8am-5pm each day). We find this results in a most efficient and enjoyable training experience.
3.5 weeks of the program are dedicated to flight and simulator training. 3 additional days are dedicated to a ground school (knowledge test-prep) course.
